A breakthrough in gluten digestion

Evonik offers a beacon of hope in the form of IN VIVO BIOTICS™ gluten tolerance, for all those who cope with the challenges of gluten avoidance. Our innovative and ready to use probiotic concept consists of a unique blend of bacterial strains that have been carefully selected for their ability to support a thorough breakdown of gluten in the gastrointestinal tract.

Unique benefit

IN VIVO BIOTICS™ gluten tolerance offers a new level of convenience for all those who want to avoid gluten.

Evonik's innovative approach

IN VIVO BIOTICS™ gluten tolerance is not just another enzyme preparation. Our team has performed extensive screenings to find a synergistic combination of helpful bacteria capable of producing the full spectrum of enzymes required for complete gluten breakdown.
This not only supports digestion of common gluten-containing foods, but also helps to reduce the immunogenic effects of partially digested gluten with a longer-lasting effect – a significant advance over existing digestion aids.

Positive effects beyond digestion

We tested our probiotic consortium on healthy people in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. The trial showed that IN VIVO BIOTICS™ gluten tolerance did lower the amount of gluten left in stool significantly compared to placebo. Furthermore, it improved the diversity of gut bacteria. The efficacy of our solution is currently being validated in a clinical trial with celiac disease patients
